Hokuryu Baiten Grand Opening!
The shop at the roadside station "Sunflower Park Hokuryu" has reopened with a new look.
The new shop had a soft start on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, and officially had its grand opening as "Hokuryu Baiten" on Saturday, April 4th.
We've made significant changes to the layout, transforming the store into a brighter and more open space than ever before.
From sunflower-related products and brand-name rice that Hokuryu Town is proud of, to the rare Kurosenkoku soybeans, fresh vegetables, chilled and frozen goods, and even handmade works by local creators—everything that Hokuryu Town has to offer right now is gathered here.

Sunflower Corner
Upon entering, the first thing that greets you is the sunflower-related products corner. You'll find not only food items like sunflower oil, but also accessories and original merchandise.
The sunflower, the symbol of Hokuryu Town, adds color to daily life in various ways.
"Himawari Rice" brand rice corner
We offer a wide selection of "Himawari Rice," a brand of rice grown with minimal pesticide use. Multiple varieties, including "Nanatsuboshi" and "Kitakurin," are available in 2kg and 5kg packs.
We also stock glutinous rice and processed products made from it, allowing you to fully enjoy the delicious taste of Hokuryu rice.
The legendary Kurosenkoku soybean corner
A wide variety of "Kurosenkoku Soybean" products, which are very popular at events, will be on display. These include Kurosenkoku Keema Curry (retort pouch) and Kurosenkoku Tea, among other rare items that are hard to find anywhere else in the country.
Please try the "legendary soybeans" that Hokuryu Town proudly presents to the world.
Fresh Vegetable Corner
The fresh vegetable corner is marked by a blackboard art piece that reads "Fresh Vegetables from HOKURYU".
You'll find seasonal vegetables like komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) and sunny lettuce, all lovingly grown by local farmers. We're already looking forward to the even wider selection available during the peak harvest season.
Refrigerated and Frozen Goods Section
We offer a wide selection of Hokuryu's proud chilled and frozen products, including "Sunflower Pork" (pork raised on feed made from sunflower oil), Hokuryu Suisei sake, and Kurosenkoku natto. We also stock wines from Housui Winery.
Handmade Craft Corner
A variety of unique handmade bags, pouches, and accessories created by local artisans will be on display.
From "Okan Kobo"'s colorful fabric accessories to other one-of-a-kind pieces that shine with creativity and warmth, each one is a treasure born from the hands of the people of Hokuryu Town.
Goods featuring Hokuryu Sauna's mascot characters, "Sun" and "Ron"
Original merchandise featuring Hokuryu Sauna's mascot characters, "Sun" (a sunflower girl) and "Ron" (a blue dinosaur), which have been very popular since their introduction, is also available for purchase.
There are lots of cute goods available, such as stickers (200 yen) and MOKU towels (1,100 yen).

On Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, the long-awaited new product, "Sunflower Pork Roast Pork Bun," went on sale. It's already attracting attention as a specialty gourmet item of Hokuryu Town.
Three key points for exceptional taste
- A generous portion of luxurious "Sunflower Pork"：
We've marinated "Himawari Pork," a premium brand of pork from Hokuryu Town, in a rich, specially made sauce. The savory flavor of the green onions enhances the sweetness of the meat, resulting in a truly satisfying dish.
- Soft and chewy dough made with Hokkaido-grown wheat.：
The dough is made with wheat from Tokachi. The gentle sweetness of the wheat that spreads with every bite, and the irresistibly soft and chewy texture are simply amazing.
- Enjoy it hot or at home!：
We offer two types of steamed buns: those ready to eat at the shop, and frozen packages perfect for home consumption or as gifts.
The melt-in-your-mouth roasted pork made with "Himawari Pork" is perfectly complemented by the crispness of the green onions. Be sure to try it during your drive or when relaxing after a hot spring bath.

With the introduction of table-top tablet ordering, the ability to return dishes to the designated area after eating, and self-service payment systems, you can now enjoy your meal more smoothly.
24-hour service available! "Do-Hiemon" frozen vending machine installed.
A new frozen food vending machine, "Do-Hiemon," has been installed in front of Restaurant Kazaguruma. Its biggest appeal is that it's available 24 hours a day. It's perfect for a late-night snack during your stay, or a light meal during a hot spring bath or drive.

A hearty dish featuring a juicy pork cutlet topped with a rich curry sauce.
- Chewy fresh pasta (shrimp and tomato cream sauce)：
Tomato cream pasta with plenty of shrimp. Comes with a convenient fork and tray, so you can enjoy it right away.
Please heat your purchased items in the microwave oven located next to "Dohiemon" before eating.
