About Hokuryu Town Portal
Hokuryu Town Portal is a local information website based in Hokuryu Town, Uryu District, Hokkaido, operated by Noboru and Ikuko Terauchi since 2011. From this small town with a population of approximately 1,600, it continues to spread the "spirit of Japan" in 10 languages around the world.

Site Philosophy
- To share the "spirit of harmony" and "spirit of compassion" that the residents of Hokuryu Town unconsciously practice with the world.
- We aim to reach a target of 1,600 people involved in the region by disseminating information in 10 languages.
- Through 16 years and over 20,000 articles, a realistic record of everyday life in the town has been preserved.
- We will publicly present our co-creation with AI not as a "tool," but as a "partnership."

Site History
- Hokuryu Town Portal established in July 2011
- Access management using Google Analytics 4 will resume in April 2024.
- In June 2025, TranslatePress will begin publishing in nine languages.
- By February 2026, we aim to expand our communication system to 10 languages.
- The website was relaunched on April 2, 2026 (Thursday) (17th year since its launch), and recorded 273,000 users and 769,000 page views in 2025.
