A detached house restaurant has opened along the Hokkaido Prefectural Road Mashike-Inada Line.
41-1 Ryusei, Hokuryu-cho. In a quiet location surrounded by mountains and fields, stands a stylish and simple house with striking black exterior walls and a red roof. On March 17, 2026 (Tuesday), the restaurant "Ryusai" opened there.
The owner, Naoki Michishita, has 35 years of culinary experience that he uses to give back to his hometown.
The owner, Naoki Michishita (55 years old), is from Asahikawa City. He is a veteran chef with 35 years of experience. His mother is from Hokuryu Town, and due to his parents' aging, he moved from Asahikawa City to Hokuryu Town last December.
The reason I set up my shop across the street from my parents' house is because of a quiet but profound desire to support them while honing my skills as a chef.
"Instead of going far away, I'll stay by the side of the people I cherish and do what I can." This simple choice lit a new light of food in Hokuryu Town.

Upon entering the restaurant, you'll find a ticket vending machine at the entrance. This system of purchasing meal tickets before taking a seat is a way to ensure a pleasant experience for both customers and the Michishita family.
The shop is decorated with many bouquets of flowers to celebrate the opening, as well as lovely photographs and elegant pressed flower arrangements gifted by friends and acquaintances.
Before noon on the opening day, fans of the Michishita family came in one after another from both within and outside the town, and the restaurant was bustling with many customers.
Thanks to the warm hospitality of the parents and the Michishita family, the entire restaurant has a bright and homey atmosphere.
Menu — Authentic Chinese cuisine and carefully selected Japanese dishes
Signature dish: "Ryusai Gozen" (2,000 yen)
🍚 Freshly cooked rice from Hokuryu Town and fresh seafood from Mashike and Rumoi. This luxurious bento box, adorned with shredded egg omelet, is a special selection of dishes proudly offered by Ryusai, and includes tempura, steamed egg custard, boiled fish, sashimi, fried chicken, pickles, and miso soup.

Opening hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The early opening hours stem from the Michishita family's desire to be a place where commuters and motorcyclists can easily stop by and grab a bite to eat.
Evenings are by reservation only. We also accept reservations for bento boxes and banquets. Closed on Thursdays and Fridays (occasional irregular closures).

Turn right at the intersection where Arima Shoten is located, and head towards Mashike Town. Continue straight along the road for about 12km (12 minutes), and you will see a building with black exterior walls and a red roof on your right.
