On Friday, January 21, 2022, Hiroko Yoshio (74), a resident of Hokuryu Town, won the 42nd Samejima Award for her haiku collection, “Hanaikada (Flower Raft).” The award was featured in an article in the online edition of the Hokkaido Shimbun newspaper. We would like to introduce it to you.

Thursday, April 23, 2020 Since April 2013, we have been posting pictures of smiling Hokuryu town residents in the "Hokuryu Town Residents" category on the Hokuryu Town Portal. Since September 2018, we have been posting pictures of smiling Hokuryu town residents with their pets in the "Wan tomo Nyan tomo" series.
On Friday, February 28, 2020, we held a lecture at Himawari University entitled "In Gratitude for Our 10th Anniversary - Lecturer Noboru Terauchi" to commemorate our 10th anniversary of moving to the area. To commemorate this, Mr. Takao Yamada presented us with a wonderful handmade offering box. [...]
