The 2024 Shinryu Shrine Autumn Festival was held in Hokuryu Town for three days from Sunday, September 8th to Tuesday, September 10th.

Shrine visit

The procession to be held on Monday, September 9th will depart from Shinryu Shrine at 9:50 a.m., travel around the First and Fifth Shrines, and return to the shrine at around 12:30 p.m.

The shrines are Eirakuen, Wa Community Center, Itaya Community Center, Nishikawa Community Center, and Mitani Community Center.

As dedication entertainment, a "Town Karaoke Festival" (6:00 p.m. on the 9th, in the Community Center's large hall) and a "Park Golf Tournament" (10:30 a.m. on the 10th, in the temple grounds) will be held.

Morisuna (Saisa)

At the location where the mikoshi is set up, piles of sand (saisuna) are placed on green bamboo at the four corners where shimenawa ropes are strung.

Shinsen (offerings)

◉ Rice, sake, rice cakes, dried foods (kelp), fish, vegetables (radish, cucumber, carrot, greens), fruits (grapes, bananas), salt, water, snacks (rice crackers)

This year, due to unforeseen circumstances, the lion dance performance was not held. However, the visit to the shrine went smoothly and without any problems!

After the worship is finished, the portable shrine heads to the third shrine, accompanied by shouts of "Yoi-ya-sa!"
