The 1st Hokuryu Kendama Club Hekisui Police Station Cup was held! The community came together, with adults and children learning and having fun together!
The 1st Hokuryu Kendama Club Hekisui Police Station Cup was held at the Hokuryu Town Community Center Large Hall on Monday, March 20, 2023. A total of 50 people, including 26 children and their families, including club members, attended.

An interview with Mayor Naotoshi Minami of Hamatonbetsu Town, originally from Hokuryu Town, states, "The northernmost railway line was abolished 34 years ago, and even replacement buses can no longer be maintained." [Nikkei Business Online Edition]
On Monday, March 20, 2023, the Nikkei Business Online published an interview article (dated March 16th) with Hamatonbetsu Mayor Naotoshi Minami, a native of Hokuryu Town. The article was titled, "The northernmost railway line, abolished 34 years ago, can no longer even be maintained as a replacement bus."

76th Graduation Ceremony: This year's 9 students graduated with honourable attitudes. The farewell speech was given by Sakura Kosuge, a second-year student representing the current students, and the reply speech was given by Anju Fujii, a representative of the graduating class [Hokuryu Junior High School].
