The Hokkaido News Link Council (Secretariat: Tokachi Mainichi Shimbun) has published an article on its internet site, HOKKAIDO NEWS LINK, titled "Top-notch soba-making techniques on display in Hokuto, two tournaments in April [Hokuto] [Hakodate Shimbun]" dated March 16th, which we would like to introduce to you.

The article states, "The Hokkaido Master Tournament Qualifying Tournament is one of 17 qualifying tournaments being held in 17 locations across the country, and 51 people who win the qualifying tournament will advance to the final tournament to be held in Fukui City in November. Twenty-three enthusiasts will be competing from as far north as Hokuryu Town in the Sorachi region and as far south as Saitama Prefecture."
