The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital, an Internet site operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun (Sapporo City), has published an article (dated February 4) on "Hokuryu Mayor Election: Newcomer Mr. Sasaki Elected".
In the article, it says, "It has been 12 years since 2012 since the election campaign. There were 1,443 voters on the day of the election, with 1,258 voting. The voter turnout was 87.18%, 4.48 percentage points lower than the previous round. The number of invalid votes was 7," it stated.
