The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website, operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun newspaper (Sapporo), has published an article (dated January 16th) entitled "Hokuryu Town Mayoral Election Briefing: Two New Candidate Camps Attend, High Probability of Election Battle," which we would like to introduce to you.
The article states, "Two new candidates who have already announced their candidacy will be in attendance: Kitase Hirokuni (62), former representative director of Kitasorachi Agricultural Cooperative Hokuryu District, and Sasaki Yasuhiro (67), former town council chairman. This is likely to be the first election campaign in 12 years, since 2012."
