January 15 (Monday) is Koshogatsu. Yesterday, January 14 (Sun.), "Dondoyaki" was held at Shinryu Shrine from 9:00 a.m., followed by a "Yakuza (exorcism) Ceremony" from 10:00 a.m.

Dondoyaki" is a sacred ritual to send off the New Year's gods.
Town residents bring their New Year's decorations, shimenawa (sacred straw ropes), etc., and burn them at the festival.

We will burn a fire to purify our bodies and minds of evil spirits and give thanks for a clean and fresh New Year, and sincerely pray for good health and a bountiful harvest.
