This is a look at the first # tasks: # forest survey and # bamboo cutting. First, the forest is surveyed before the bamboo is cut. A section is created and the number of bamboo shoots and tree sprouts (baby trees) are counted. After that, the bamboo is cut, allowing light to enter the forest floor, causing buds to emerge from buried nuts, promoting the natural regeneration of the # forest. Flowering plants other than bamboo also increase, bringing the # forest closer to being highly diverse. We are Shizenshita, a family-run organization that runs a small forestry business in the mountains of Hokuryu Town, Hokkaido. [Shizenshita, Tatsuya and Hitomi Uei]
