The 2021 award ceremony for the Kitan-Shin "Hometown Promotion Fund" was held on Wednesday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. at the Fukagawa head office of Kita Sorachi Shinkin Bank (Fukagawa City).

2021 Awards Ceremony for the Kisshin "Hometown Promotion Fund".
The purpose of the Kitashin "Hometown Promotion Fund" is to promote the local community.
The Kitashin "Hometown Promotion Fund" awards and promotes organizations and individuals who are making efforts to improve local industrial technology, revitalize local communities, and enhance local culture.
The Kitashin "Hometown Promotion Fund," which started as a commemorative project for the 60th anniversary of the foundation, was awarded for the 12th time this year. Eight organizations (two in the industrial technology category, two in the hometown revitalization category, two in the cultural category, and two in the judges' special prize category) received awards, and were presented with certificates and grants.
Two organizations from Hokuryu Town received awards: Committee Members for Promoting Contact between Children and the Elderly and Ei no Mori Activity Organization.
This year, Hokuryu Town awarded the "Ei (Hisashi) Forest Activity Organization (Representative: Osamu Kato)" in the Hometown Revitalization category and the "Children and Senior Citizens Friendship Promotion Committee (Representative: Shizuo Nakamura)" in the Culture category. Ltd. and Hokkaido Fukagawa Higashi High School for the Kitashin Industrial Technology Award, N-link Inc. and Ei no Mori Organization for the Hometown Revitalization Award, the Children and Senior Citizens Friendship Promotion Committee and the Imosegyu Mini Basketball Boys Team for the Cultural Award, and the Fukagawa Junior High School Brass Band and the Kita Sorachi Fukagawa Little Senior Ball Team for the Judges' Special Award. Fukagawa Junior High School Brass Band and North Sorachi Fukagawa Little Senior Baseball Team were selected by the Screening Committee and the Bank's Board of Directors.
We hope that the Bank will do its best to contribute to the further revitalization of the community through the future awards from the Bank's Promotion Fund. Kitashin Industrial Technology Division Award
(Fukagawa Future Farm Co.
Aiming to develop local specialty products, the company is involved in the entire process of raising, processing, and selling pigs, and is working to promote the branding of its ham, sausage, bacon, and other products as Fukagawa pork.
Fukagawa Higashi High School, Fukagawa, Hokkaido
Hokkaido Fukagawa Higashi High School has long been actively involved in planning ideas and developing products to revitalize the local community, and the commercial club's 2016 project, "apple Ramune" made from Fukagawa-grown apples, was very well received and became a big hit.
Kitashin Hometown Revitalization Division Award
(N-link (Numata Town)
(N-link started its business as a comprehensive sports club in 2011. In Numata Town, N-link has been engaged in a wide range of activities to promote the health of the town's residents through exercise classes for the elderly and sports support programs for children to create a sense of purpose in life and prevent nursing care.
Ei no Mori Activity Organization (Hokuryu Town)
This is a new initiative that aims to cut through virgin forests and cultivate satoyama forests with high biodiversity, and to make these activities a place for youth to learn by sharing their activities with children and interacting with nature together with them.
Kitashin Cultural Division Award
Committee member for promoting interaction between children and the elderly (Hokuryu Town)
The program has been in existence for 38 years since 1983. This is an effort to pass on the rich experience and diverse abilities of the elderly to the children of the future generation through hands-on experience, thereby fostering in them a spirit of caring for the elderly.
Imosegyo Mini Basketball Boys Club (Imosegyo Town)
While many sports organizations in various regions have been forced to cease their activities due to the declining birthrate, since 2011 (Heisei 23), the mini-basketball youth league in Imosegucho has been actively developing its activities in a wide area by accepting players from neighboring youth groups beyond the boundaries of cities, towns, and villages.
Judges' Special Award
Fukagawa Junior High School Brass Band (Fukagawa City)
Last year, the group received the Cultural Division Award from the Foundation, and later won the Grand Prize at the Japan Wind Music Ensemble Contest, which is awarded to 14 groups in Japan. The award was given to the group this year because of their continued activities.
Kita Sorachi Fukagawa Little Senior Baseball Team (Fukagawa City)
We are a junior high school hardball team newly born in Fukagawa for the first time in 10 years. Although the team has only been in existence for a short time, it has achieved excellent results in the hardball game since its first year and participated in the national tournament held in Okinawa last December. The team received a special award in anticipation of their future success.

We are very happy to have received the wonderful award of the Kitashin Industrial Technology Award and the Grand Prize.
The award-winning apple Ramune is a product developed using Fukagawa City's specialties.In 2016, we designed the label and created the poster. Thanks to the efforts of our seniors, the cooperation of all related organizations, and the various media coverage, we were able to make this product available to a large number of people.
In addition, since 2017, Fujitani Orchard has been providing us with apple fruit, making the product even more appealing to Fukagawa City.
Currently, due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, we have fewer opportunities for activities to sell our products. However, we will continue to engage in activities to further promote Fukagawa City through the planning of new apple products.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your support of our activities to date. We look forward to your continued support of the Fukagawa East and Commercial Club. Thank you very much for your kind attention today".
Report on the award to Mayor Yutaka Sano of Hokuryu Town
After the award ceremony, the participants moved to the Hokuryu-cho Town Hall, where Shizuo Nakamura, representative of the Committee for Promoting Contact between Children and the Elderly, and Osamu Kato, representative of the Ei no Mori Organization, presented the award to Mayor Yutaka Sano.

For 38 years, the "Children and Senior Citizens Friendship Promotion Committee" has been working to build emotional ties between the children and elderly people of Hokuryu-cho and continues to enthusiastically engage in exchange activities. Representative Shizuo Nakamura, 83, has been involved in the organization since its establishment and continues to contribute to the sound upbringing of the children of Hokuryu Town.

The Ei no Mori Organization is engaged in groundbreaking activities to develop the precious mountain forests of Hokuryu Town and revitalize them as satoyama (satoyama) where children can interact with nature. Representative Osamu Kato is a farmer and also served as the leader of the Hokuryu Fire Brigade for many years.
