On Friday, August 29, 2025, the NHK Hokkaido WEB, an internet site operated by NHK (Tokyo), posted an article titled "A gust of wind may have occurred in Hokuryu Town on the 26th, destroying two huts. The meteorological observatory is conducting an on-site investigation."
On Friday, August 29, 2025, the Hokkaido Broadcasting Corporation (Sapporo) website, HBC Hokkaido News, reported, "A gust of wind hits Hokuryu Town, Hokkaido, destroying vacant houses, blowing off roofs of storage sheds, and destroying crops in fields. [...]"
On August 22 (Fri), a town development discussion meeting was held at the Mibaushi Community Center, with approximately 20 town residents participating. The meeting included explanations of the fiscal year 2025 policies and Regional Revitalization 2.0, as well as topics on agriculture, education, living environment, and more.
