On Friday, July 26, 2024, the Kita Sorachi Shimbun, an internet site operated by the Kita Sorachi Shimbun Company (Fukagawa City), published an article titled "38th Sunflower Festival Opens: Mayor 'I Want to Let Hokuryu's Sunflowers Reach the World'" (dated July 24th).

July 25, 2024 (Thursday) Sunflowers are blooming all over town, including along the roadside and in the flowerbeds at Shinryu Elementary School! This is "Sunfinity," a 100-flowered sunflower that blooms one after another, its tiny, cute flowers touching my heart every time I encounter it.
