We would like to introduce an article (dated February 5th) entitled "The Seeds of Civic Pride in Sorachi: Ugawa Hidenori" that has been published on the Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press (Sapporo).
The article states, "The town of Hokuryu's project to give picture books to babies born within the town also shows a sense of local love. The book is called "Your Picture Book." Turning the pages reveals local specialties such as rice, sunflower oil, and Kurosengoku soybeans. The whole town welcomes the new life. Even if the townspeople who receive the books leave Hokuryu, they can open the books and explain their hometowns. It sounds like fun."
