The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website, operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press (Sapporo), has published an article (dated February 22nd) entitled "Iwanai Daiichi Junior High School's Hori Wins Top Prize at Hometown Children's Art Exhibition," so we would like to introduce it to you.
The article states, "The Kida Kinjiro Award winning work, 'Summer Memories,' is based on the sunflower fields that Hori saw when he visited Hokuryu Town in the Sorachi region, and was praised for its 'carefully drawn depiction and excellent use of the contrast between light and shadow.'"
