View this post on Instagram Continued: # Birch Bark. Peeling off the white outer bark reveals the beautiful inner bark. # Birch baskets, etc., are apparently cut into thin strips and used as tape. The peeled white thin bark can be used for other crafts or used as kindling on its own. Birch is a Hokkaido specialty with a variety of uses, but those that aren't particularly thick are often mixed with other tree species for low prices, cut into chips, and used as raw materials for paper and other products. Nature's motto is #: the right material in the right place.
