On Wednesday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m., a social gathering of the volunteer group "Smile Association" of Hokuryu Town was held at the multipurpose hall of COCOWA, a commercial revitalization facility in Hokuryu Town.
Smile Party and Social Events
About 20 members of the Smile Association gathered for a "Hokuryu-cho Portal Video Projection" by Noboru & Ikuko Terauchi, members of the Smile Association, a bingo game, and lunch (boxed lunch), which enhanced friendship.
Greetings from Chairman Mineko Sato
This is the fourth year that the volunteer group "Smile Association" has been started. This is the second year we have held a social event. Thank you all for coming.
This year, we have established "Game Day" as a project starting in September. I know it is not well known to everyone, but it is held twice a month, the first Monday of the month and the third Wednesday and Monday of the month.
The September meeting was as usual, but from October, we hope you will use it as a place to relax and enjoy chatting with others. We hope that everyone will enjoy playing mahjong, Othello, handicrafts, hand games, brain exercises, and so on.
We hope that everyone will join us on "Game Day".
Currently, we have 24 members. We would appreciate your cooperation in increasing our membership by talking to people you know so that more people will know about us in the future.
This year, for the first time, nine of our members assisted the "Cosmos Club" as on-site volunteers for three days on August 1, 2, and 4 at Himawari-no-sato. I also participated in the event and learned a lot from the experience of being close to people and realizing that "tomorrow will be my life.
I believe that volunteering is something that bounces back to you. I hope that you will continue to help us because coming to this meeting and participating can extend to and affect you.
Since this multi-purpose hall is a shared area, we would appreciate it if you would make an effort to clean up the chairs and tables after the activity is over, make sure there is no trash on the floor, and sweep the floor.
Today's social event will include a "Hokuryu-cho Portal Video Projection" by Mr. and Mrs. Terauchi, a bingo game with great prizes, and a box lunch.
We have prepared for today's full day to visibly give back what you have worked so hard for over the past four years at the Smile Party. I hope you will enjoy yourselves to the end and leave".
