Hokuryu Town, Hokkaido, is a town of sunflowers. It may be a small town with a population of just 1,600, but it is home to a vast expanse of land that stretches out as far as the eye can see, and the heartwarming stories of the people who live there.
"Food is life" is a philosophy deeply rooted in this town, and the spirit of "harmony" and "compassion" lives in daily life.
My husband and I are deeply moved by each and every one of these experiences, and since 2010 we have continued to share the town's stories through this website.
Our unchanging wish is that the warmth of this small town will reach your heart and spread to the world as a small "share of joy."

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, six students from across Japan gathered in Hokuryu Town, Hokkaido, for the "Career Design Camp" to design their future careers. The camp focused on the town's key industry, construction, and how to create a town that is attractive to families raising children.
On Thursday, August 28th and Saturday, August 30th, the "Let's Talk Together: Moms and Dads Cafe" was held at the Hokuryu Town Community Center. In a relaxed cafe-like atmosphere, parents in the town discussed education and childcare.
