On Saturday, May 1, from 8:00 a.m., the Hokuryu-cho Yawara Neighborhood Association Senior Citizens Club (Chairman: Nobuyuki Kanayama) held a "Road Cleanup.
The Wa Neighborhood Association Senior Citizens Club is a club for those 65 years of age or older residing in Wa Neighborhood Association to participate freely, to promote mutual friendship and harmony, and to cooperate in building enjoyable human relationships. It currently consists of 70 members.

About 20 members participated on the day of the event, despite the cold and windy weather. They picked up trash and cans along Route 94 from the Wa Neighborhood Association trash station to the Hokuryu Bridge and along the town roads to help beautify the environment.

Each participant brought a garbage bag and collected garbage, cans, pieces of wood, etc. that had fallen along the banks and irrigation ditches along a 2.4-km one-way road.
The garbage collected filled the back of a light truck!

Thank you for the cold weather today. The town has been cleaned up and people's hearts have been cleaned up.

Finally, drinks and pastries were distributed to everyone and the event was dismissed.
