[Sunflower watermelon cultivation and snow removal work in greenhouses] Takada Akimitsu Farm [Hokuryu Sunflower Watermelon Producers Association]

On Tuesday, March 11th, snow removal work was carried out on the greenhouses at Takada Akimitsu Farm, part of the Kitaryū Sunflower and Watermelon Producers Group.

Two snow removal machines are used inside and outside the greenhouse. Snow remains around the iron pipes, so they are removed by hand.

It involves painstaking work that involves making several trips from one end of the 100m house to the other.

Snow removal from the six houses is scheduled to be completed by the end of this week (around the 15th). Snow removal from the remaining three houses will be completed next week.

Once the snow removal is complete, the house will be covered with vinyl on a day when the wind is not too strong. By the time the snow removal is complete, the house bands are already being steadily prepared.
