Friday, January 17th marks the start of the winter doyo (18 days before the beginning of spring).
As the seasons change and it's easy to get sick, eat red foods to ward off evil spirits and spend the day relaxing and calming your mind.
Mehari, turnip and salmon pressed sushi
On a day like this, you can enjoy the ``Mehari (pickled takana), salted koji pickled turnip, smoked salmon and salmon flakes pressed sushi''!
Rice cooked with plum and kelp is mixed with Nozawana dried baby sardines and sesame seeds.
Top with pickled radish and sprinkle with a light sprinkling of gold powder.
Adding orange sunset flowers makes today seem like a beautiful day!!!
