Now in its 10th year, the solar illumination at the home of Setsuya Suzuki, 72, near Hekisui Shrine in Hokuryu-cho, is even more sparkling and fantastic this year.

I was thinking of a 'fantastic theme' this year, but it ended up being a 'fairy tale' style.

The most important work was the painting in the center. It was painted by Mr. Makino, a farmer living in Hokuryu Town. He is a cat friend of mine, and this is a joint work with him. I spent about 60 hours decorating the picture that my friend drew.

This painting is inspired by "The Music of Love and Peace in the World. It is the love between a man and a woman, and the "Bremen Musicians" played by horses, dogs, cats, and birds.

The dome-shaped arrangement was completed by having a forklift lift it up. The dome-shaped lights were shaped with the image of the entire dome flowing round and round.

Thanks to all the people who help us every year. It is only with the help of many friends in various areas that we are able to make it this far. I could never have done it alone. I am very grateful for that.

This is the 10th year, and we have already had about 10 groups of customers who come to see the show and say, 'This year is different from last year.

The morning glories that decorate the garden during the daytime have already grown 4 meters this year," said Mr. Suzuki, "and with vines that stretch over 6 meters, they continue to produce more and more flowers each day, producing neat and pretty blossoms.
