4) Sunflower Park Hokuryu Hot Springs
Located along Route 275, this hot spring lodging facility is designated as the 17th roadside station in Hokkaido. Sunflower Park Hokuryu Hot Springs opened in June 1992, and lodging facilities were completed in October 1994.
It has an open-air bath with 100% free-flowing spring water, a large bath, a water bath, a bubble bath, and a Jacuzzi sleeping bath, as well as a restaurant and a store. The accommodation facility has a total of 17 rooms and was renovated and reopened on March 17, 2018 (Heisei 30).
5) Hill with a view
A scenic spot with a panoramic view of the countryside of Kita Sorachi and the Daisetsu Mountains.
The hill with a view is located 550m west of Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen in a plot of the Hokusame Agricultural Land Development at an elevation of approximately 170m above sea level. It commands a panoramic view of the northernmost part of the Ishikari Plain, North Sorachi, and the Daisetsu Mountains (Mt. Asahidake 2,291), which are said to be the roof of Hokkaido.
(1,060m) and Mt. Etai (1,060m) in the Shokanbetsu (1,461m) mountain range. These mountains remain covered with snow until the end of June.
6) Onko, the Dragon God
An evergreen conifer called yew or aralagi, onko is the Ainu name for the tree.
The tree is approximately 800 years old, 11 meters tall, and has a trunk circumference of 488 cm. According to a survey conducted by the Environment Agency in 1989, the tree ranks 9th in Japan in terms of tree species.
