On Saturday, June 29, the "JAL Origami Airplane Workshop," a project to interact with children and the elderly sponsored by the Hokuryu Town Board of Education, was held at the Hokuryu Town Rural Environment Improvement Center (gymnasium).

Project for interaction between children and the elderly
Twenty-two children and 11 members of the Senior Citizens Friendship Promotion Committee had a great time playing with origami airplanes.
JAL Origami Airplane Workshop
The "JAL Origami Airplane Workshop" began in May 2022 as part of the JAL Group's next-generation development program, Soraiku®.
There will be instruction on how to fold and fly origami airplanes, tameshi-throwing, mini-competitions, and more.

Folding Tips
- Fold the left and right sides of the fold carefully and neatly, with good balance. After folding, do not touch it too much to avoid getting grease on your hands.
- Leave a gap of 1 to 2 mm between folds
- Ideally, the finished airplane should fly with the wings in the shape of a Y when held in the hand and the wings in the shape of a T when flying away from the hand!

Mini-competitions with the elderly and children

The top five finishers will receive a certificate and a prize of Chinoken's original paper airplane.
