Thank you for presenting us with watermelons today. This is my first watermelon of the year, so I am looking forward to eating it! I am looking forward to eating it! Thank you very much.
Everyone said, "Hokuryu sunflower watermelon, so sweet!
Akimitsu Takada, Chairman of the Board of Directors, commented
For about 30 years now, we have been giving local food to local children in order to encourage them to eat local food.
I hope that when watermelons appear in the supermarket, they will remember the taste of 'Himawari Suika' that they had in elementary school. I am sure that children will remember the taste of Himawari Suika for the rest of their lives," commented Mr. Takada.
Every year, Sunflower Watermelon Producers Association's Sunflower Watermelons are donated to "Manryu Elementary School", "Wa Nursery School", "Hokuryu Junior High School", and "Hokuryu Town Eirakuen", a special nursing home for the elderly.
We hope that the local elementary school students will enjoy the sunflower watermelon grown with love and care by the growers of Hokuryu-cho, and we wish them endless love, gratitude, and prayers as they enjoy the delicious taste with smiles on their faces while chewing with joy and gratitude.
