On Tuesday, June 21, the summer solstice, sunflowers were mowed and thinned at Sunflower Village by the residents of Hokuryu Town.
This is the mowing & thinning work of Hokuryu Town residents with deep love and sincerity for the lovely sunflowers growing vigorously under the great sunshine of the summer solstice.
The event will be held for two hours each in the morning and afternoon (09:30-11:30 and 13:30-15:30) over the three days of June 21 (Tuesday), 22 (Wednesday), and 23 (Thursday). A total of about 140 people have signed up to participate over the three days, including volunteers from the town's neighborhood associations, senior citizen clubs, and others.

In the summer solstice sun, we were serious, silent, and sometimes friendly.
Praying for the healthy growth of sunflowers.
We work hard, earnestly, and lovingly.
The work proceeds with a lively hand.
A splendid burst of energetic power from all of you!
The sunflowers are so grateful for everyone's sincerity!
Come on! Let's go for it!" and the cheerful sunflowers grow up quickly.
Happy-colored dandelions gently watch over the sunflower village!
We express our infinite love, gratitude, and prayers to the mysterious rainbow ring of the sun that shines on the day of the summer solstice.
