The "Sunflower Village Mowing Crusade," an activity in which town residents, including members of senior citizen clubs, freely participate in mowing and thinning out the weeds in the Sunflower Village as volunteer activities.

This activity started in 1992 (Heisei 4) and has been carried on for 32 years.
With the fruits of their many years of experience, the veteran residents of the town bent over with their hoes and worked diligently to thin out the plants and pull out the weeds around them in the designated area of the sunflower field.
This year, from Wednesday, June 26 to Friday, June 28
This year, the event will take place over three days, from Wednesday, June 26 to Friday, June 28, with two hours in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00 and two hours in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30.
About 30 town residents participate each time, depending on the weather, and work hard at weeding.

The sunflower fields are being cleaned up and organized in no time at all.
In the village of sunflowers, where a cool breeze blows through the air, clouds resembling dragons lie in the sky, gently watching over the humble and devoted souls of the townspeople who love and care for the sunflowers.
It is a moment of great power, when what would be impossible for one person to accomplish alone becomes possible through the combined efforts of many people working together.

Work continued for the next hour or so, with a drink break in between.
With boundless love, gratitude and prayers for the precious souls of the townspeople, whose loving thoughts for the sunflowers in the Sunflower Village make the beautiful sunflowers bloom.
