Jiji.com, an Internet site operated by Jiji Press, Inc. of Tokyo, Japan, has published an article (dated March 11) titled "[SHIRO] SHIRO Concludes Agreement with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to Promote Wood Use in Buildings to Expand Wood Use at SHIRO Corporation" that uses thinned larch wood from Hokuryu-cho, Hokkaido. Ltd. has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to promote the use of timber in buildings.
The article states, "In October 2022, the exterior walls of 'Everybody's Factory' were fitted with eared boards milled from thinned larch from Hokuryu-cho, Hokkaido.
The larch timber produced in Hokuryu-cho is provided by Shizen Shita (Representative: Tatsuya Kamii), a company that operates a self-supporting forestry business in Hokuryu-cho.
