A New Year's reception was held at the Hokuryu Town Assembly Hall on Friday, January 6th, and Mayor Yutaka Sano gave a New Year's greeting.

We would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to you and your family on celebrating a bright new year.
We are living in difficult times with the rise in crude oil prices and commodity prices due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in Ukraine, but I believe that we will overcome these difficulties and create a society filled with smiles.
Now, with each new year, we raise our hopes and dreams and renew our resolve to work hard to make them come true. I hope that each of your dreams will come true.
This year's zodiac sign is the rabbit. I am also a man born in this year's year for the sixth time. I would like to introduce some of my favorite sayings.

"This year, we will have elections for town council members, and this will be the last year of my third term. I sincerely hope that 2023 will be a year of great progress for Hokuryu Town and all of its staff, and I would like to conclude my New Year's address with this message," said Mayor Yutaka Sano in his New Year's address.
