Saturday, January 1, 2022 Happy New Year New Year's Day
On January 1 (Sat.) at 7:00 a.m., a prayer service was held at the Shinryu Shrine in Hokuryu-cho. This year, 2022, is the year of the "Mizu-no-Era," or the "Five Yellow Tiger," which occurs once every 36 years.
Due to deep snow on the roads and unstable and slippery underfoot conditions this year, the 39th New Year's Day Marathon 2022 has been cancelled.
Everyone gathered at the Shinryu Shrine to pray for an early end to the plague, a bountiful harvest, traffic safety, disaster prevention, and family safety.
