Friday, September 10, 2021

On September 9 (Thu), Kuro Sengoku Soybean Meat (minced meat, 4 kg) was donated to the Kita Sorachi Area School Meal Service Association by the Kuro Sengoku Business Cooperative Association in the reception room of the Hokuryu Town Hall. Upon receiving the donation, the school meal service association in the Kita Sorachi area presented a letter of appreciation to the Kuro Sentaishi Business Cooperative Association.

This June, the bean curd soup made with Kuro Sengoku soybean meat was served at a school lunch and was very popular among children. This donation was made possible by Chairman Takada's passionate wish for children to taste more Kuro Senseki soybean meat.

The donated soybean meat is scheduled to be served as "Bean Curd Bean Curd" for about 2,000 school lunches at 16 elementary and junior high schools in one city and four towns in Kita-Sorachi (Fukagawa City, Chichibubetsu Town, Amaryu Town, Hokuryu Town, and Numata Town) next Monday, September 13.

This Kuro Sengoku Soybean Meat development effort began around February of last year, 2020, with a meeting with then Deputy Director Yasuto Noshikawa (Deputy Director of the Himawari Project Promotion Office at the Hokuryu Town Hall), and was completed around November to December.

There are no soybean meat processing plants in Hokkaido, nor are there any in the Kanto region. At that time, through an introduction from the Food Processing Research Center of the Hokkaido Research Institute (Ebetsu City), we met Ms. Mako Yokomizo, President of Zenna (Sapporo City), a vegetarian food ingredient manufacturer that handles soybean meat. Through Ms. Yokomizo's introduction, we were able to take the product to a factory in Gifu Prefecture to manufacture soybean meat made from Kuro Sengoku soybeans!

Future Development

In addition to the minced type, we are currently developing and marketing a sliced type of Kuro Sengoku soybean meat.

Also under development is a retort curry made from Kuro Sengoku soybean meat by Tanzen Technical Products Corporation (Zenibako, Otaru City).

In addition, we are also considering the commercialization of processed products made from the oil produced during the production of Kuro Sengoku soybean meat.

We believe it is important to provide additive-free, safe and secure Hokkaido foodstuffs to the children who will be responsible for the world in the future. We have been using Kuro Sengoku Soybeans (beans and rice) and Kuro Sengoku Sprouted Natto (fermented soybeans) for school lunches.

We hope that Kuro Sengoku Soybean Meat can be used in a wide variety of dishes.

We will continue to promote the taste and attractiveness of Kuro Sengoku soybeans with the aim of making them safe, natural, and healthy," said President Takada emphatically.
