Smiles are in full bloom again this year! The 54th Hokuryu Town Sunflower Olympics is being held! Come join us for a day that will lift your spirits and your bodies!
As the golden ears of rice bow and Hokuryu Town enters the harvest season of autumn, the annual event that invigorates our minds and bodies is back again this year!
"Light exercise on a daily basis is important for a healthy and active life!"
Such warm feelings were put into"54th Sunflower Olympics"will be held on Thursday, October 9th.
Last year's tournament was also filled with smiles and cheers at the venue. Participants engaged in lively conversations with friends they hadn't seen in a long time, threw the balls with rapt enthusiasm, and experienced ups and downs in excitement. It was a symbol of the warm bonds of "one big family" that Hokuryu Town cherishes.
So why not join in this year? Laugh out loud, get moving, and refresh your soul with fun games that everyone can play, tailored to their level of physical ability!

Outline of the event
- When: Thursday, October 9, 2025, 9:30-11:40 (Registration begins at 9:00 AM)
- Location: Hokuryu Town Rural Environment Improvement Center
- Eligible participants: Any town resident aged 65 or older is welcome to participate.
- Contents:
- Recreational competition in seven events
- Fun big lottery etc.
- Sponsored by: Hokuryu Town Board of Education
Application to participate
Until Friday, October 3, 2025Please apply to the officers of your local neighborhood association's Himawari Longevity Association Federation or the Board of Education's Social Sports Section (Tel. 0164-34-7553).
*Even if you are enrolled at Himawari University, you will need to apply separately.
On a pleasant autumn day, the time we spend together gathering, laughing, and moving our bodies is a treasure that cannot be replaced by anything else.
