Kurosengoku bean sprouts are also grown at Sanitas garden in Kuroishi city, Aomori prefecture.

Sanitas Garden

During the deep snowy winter, we will deliver to you together with our Yukimuro potatoes the traditional Tsugaru vegetable, bean sprouts. They are up to 30cm long and crunchy…

Sanitas Garden began experimental cultivation of bean sprouts using dozens of varieties of beans in 2013. The final product was the Kurosengoku soybean!

The seeds are Kurosengoku soybeans purchased from the Kurosengoku Business Cooperative Association in Hokkaido.

For cultivation, natural hot water is drawn into the greenhouse through a pipe and used as a heat source. The temperature of the hot water is kept constant at 22 degrees throughout the year, which is said to be the perfect temperature for growing bean sprouts (see the Sanitas Garden website).
