View this post on Instagram # Delicious Mushrooms on the Side of the Trail Rakuyou mushrooms (hanai guti) were appearing here and there on the side of the work path we built in the summer. They have a slippery texture, and you can eat as many as you like in miso soup or with grated radish. Rakuyou is a symbiotic fungus that grows on Japanese larch (a deciduous coniferous tree) and usually only produces mushrooms when the tree is young, but it seems that even older Japanese larch tends to produce rakuyou when its roots are damaged. Thanks to the work path, this was an unexpected harvest. # larch# forestry# work road# forestry# small forestry#Thokkaido# Hokkaido# forest# forest# Hokkaido timber# firewood# hodagoki# Hokkaido forestry# self-sufficient forestry# sustainable Living with Nature# Living with Nature# Satoyama Management# Rural Living# Forestry for Living with Nature# Under Nature subnatural(A post shared by @shizenka2020 - October 6, 2020, 4:56 AM PDT
