View this post on Instagram Fatwood is the hardened resin (pine resin) of dead pine trees that collects at the base of the tree and is used for outdoor burning because it is highly flammable. I found a hard, candy-colored part of a dead, rotting larch root or branch, shaved it off, and lit it on fire. I tried to light it on fire. I heard the sound of resin burning and it burned somewhat, but I had the impression that it was not as oily as fatwood such as genuine red pine. I had the impression that it was not as oily as the real fatwoods such as red pine. I have a lot of dead larch trees, so I will look for some more. Still, this candy color is beautiful. # Fatwood# Mountain Play# Forestry# Small Forestry#Thokkaido# Hokkaido# Forest# Forestry# Local Wood# Firewood# Hodaki# Forestry in Hokkaido# Self-cut Forestry# Sustainable Living1TP 5T Living with Nature# Satoyama Management# Rural Life# Forestry for Living with Nature# Under Nature subnatural(A post shared by @shizenka2020 - September 24, 2020, 8:36 p.m. PDT
