From 15:00 on August 7 (Wed.), Mayor Yasuhiro Sasaki conducted the August inspection tour of Hokuryu Town.
This month's destination is Sunflower Village.
Conversations were held on a variety of topics, including the filming of a video message in support of Sunflower Suika, tourists we met at Himawari-no-sato, users of the Eirakuen special nursing home for the elderly on a stroll, and chatting with Eirakuen residents in the Himawari Sightseeing Center.

Sunflower watermelon tasting time
After taking video messages at the gazebo of the jumbo maze, we challenged families, young couples, and groups of young women who happened to pass by to sample sunflower watermelons!
Delicious!" They were full of happy smiles, saying, "It's so sweet!

Everyone gobbled up the sunflower watermelon!
On the way to Sunflower Tourist Center
Town residents we meet on the way to Sunflower Tourism Center. Smiling and talking with an elderly Eirakuen resident who just celebrated his "100th birthday"!
Inside the Himawari Sightseeing Center, we chatted congenially with the visitors of Eirakuen who came for a stroll in Himawari no Sato!
Conversation with Mr. Kihatsu Kitakiyo (former superintendent of education) about measures to receive the elderly and physically disabled at Himawari no Sato.
