In Hokuryu Town, the "Child Watching Supporter" project is being implemented.

The "Child Watching Supporter" program has continued for 18 years.

This project started 18 years ago, on August 1, 2006 (2006).

Purpose: To watch over students as they go to and from school, such as by calling out to them and chaperoning them, etc.

The Child Watching Supporter program is designed to "watch over children by calling out to them and accompanying them to and from school," "conduct crime prevention patrols to prevent crimes and accidents," and "report to the police and schools, exchange information, and interact with children.

The original 100-plus members have since retired due to aging and other factors, and the group now consists of 65 supporters.
