The 60th Hokusho Road Race 2024
Thanks to your warm support and cooperation, we were able to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this convention.
We are pleased to invite you to attend this year's event, which will be held as follows.
Why not enjoy an exhilarating run while admiring the clean landscape of Hokuryu Town, the "City of Sunflowers" with the sun on your side?
Special Guest Runner: Mr. Masashi Abe
He is a former athlete and coach of Nordic combined events from Kodaira, Hokkaido, and is currently the honorary director of the Sapporo Olympic Museum.
Nordic combined (skiing event)
- 1993 World Championships Sweden, 6th place, individual and team gold medals
- 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, individual 10th place, team gold medal
- 1995 World Championships Canada - Individual 8th, Team Gold Medal
Marathon best time
- 2004 Asahikawa Marathon, 2:43:57 (6th place)

The tournament will be held rain or shine, but may be cancelled at the organizer's discretion due to earthquakes, windstorms, floods, incidents, accidents, etc. Please refer to the attached Notes section for details on how to respond in such cases.

Accommodations in Hokuryu Town:Sunflower Park Hotel(Tel: 0164-34-3321) - Measurements are taken using a measuring tip. Chip must be fastened to shoelaces.
- Parents must wear a chip in the parent-child pairs category
- Chip collection boxes will be placed near the finish line and near the record board. Please be sure to put them in the collection box after finishing the race. If chips are lost or not returned, the participants will be charged 1,000 yen for the actual cost of the chip.

Competitors who have exceeded the time limit may be ordered to stop the race midway through the race. In such cases, please follow the instructions of the race officials and get back into your car.

After the application period, an acceptance slip will be mailed to all participants.

About Automatic Measurement
Convention Pledges
I hereby pledge to strictly abide by the following rules and regulations in participating in this tournament.
- I will follow the rules and instructions set forth by the tournament organizers.
- Any accident caused by my responsibility will be handled at my own risk (by parents/guardians for high school students and younger)
- The organizer reserves the right to publish, use, and portrait rights to any images, photographs, articles, records, etc. on TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, etc. during the competition.
- No refund of entry fee will be requested after application.
Tournament Notes
- Please fill out all the necessary information when applying.
- If the organizer decides to cancel the event due to an earthquake, windstorm, flood, accident, etc., participation prizes will be handed out at the venue during the registration time. (Participation prizes will be mailed to those applicants who were unable to participate on the day of the event.
- Participants are requested to take care of their own health and enjoy the event without overexerting themselves. If you are injured or become ill during the race, please stop the race and ask the nearest auditor or water officer for help.
- Please refrain from using the parking lots at the convention site for purposes other than parking.
- The organizers will do their utmost to prevent accidents during the race, but we ask that participants and supporters also obey the traffic rules and cooperate to avoid accidents.
Please drive with caution as it is during the Sunflower Festival and tourists may cross the road.- Accompanying runners must be approved by the event organizers, such as for those with physical or mental disabilities.
- Please do not engage in any conduct that is offensive to public order and morals.
