On April 26, 1999, a general meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to inaugurate the new Hokuryu-cho Sunflower Tourist Association.

The enactment of the Articles of Incorporation, the election of officers, and the 1999 business plan and income/expenditure budget were discussed and approved with unanimous applause by those in attendance. The following are those who were elected to the Board of Directors

As part of the discussions on the Sunflower Village fee collection since fiscal 1997, the town also discussed a system to promote tourism centering on sunflowers, and the existing Tourism Association and Sunflower Festival Executive Committee were dissolved and a new Hokuryu Town Sunflower Tourism Association was established. It was concluded that it is too early to start charging fees for the Sunflower Village.

The new tourism association will no longer collect membership fees from all households and will accept applications for supporting memberships from all households. We will work on new sunflower tourism with the participation of more members.

Membership fee application is 2,000 yen or more per unit. If you agree with the prospectus and wish to become a supporting member, please contact the secretariat (Sunflower Tourism Section, Commerce and Industry, Town Hall) or the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
