The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital, an Internet site operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun (Sapporo City), features an article (dated February 13) titled "574 Participants in Kita-Kuachi 'Genki-mura, Dream Farming Village School' More than Triple the Number of the Previous Year.
The article states, "The Rural Village School was established in 2002 and has a total of 21 members, including farmers and ordinary families in Fukagawa City, Imoseguro Town, Numata Town, and Hokuryu Town. With the slogan "Encounters are the seeds of life," the school mainly accepts students on school excursions and won the excellence award in the 11th contest of the Development Bureau's "Our Village is Beautiful - Hokkaido" campaign this fiscal year.
