The 56th HOKUSHO Road Race - Event Outline

Let's enjoy a refreshing run while viewing the clean landscape of Hokuryu Town, the "City of Sunflowers" with the sun on our side, as well as promoting a good harvest and health and deepening mutual friendship from the Sunflower Village.

5. species:

(1) Half ：General male and female (high school students and above)
(2) 10km: General male and female (high school students and above)
(3) 5km: General male/female (high school students and above), junior high school male/female (parental consent required)
(4) 3km: General male/female (high school students and above), elementary school male/female, no grade limit (parental consent required)
(5) 3km: Parent-child pairs (parents and grandparents): Children must be in 3rd grade or younger, and parent-child pairs must reach the goal hand in hand.

6. participation fee:

General 2,500 yen for men and women (3km pair 3,000 yen) (1,000 yen for elementary and junior high school students)

7. time limit:

2 hours and 30 minutes (from the first gun)
Competitors who have exceeded the time limit may be ordered to stop the race midway through the race. In such cases, please follow the instructions of the officials and get back into your car.

8. how to apply:

(1) Please call, fax, postcard or e-mail the secretariat with your name and address. (2) Minors must have a parent or guardian's permission before applying for participation.

(2) The secretariat will send you by mail the "Participation Guidelines" and the "Participation Fee Postal Transfer Form".

(3) Please pay the conference entry fee using the postal transfer form you received.
　(If more than one person transfers money at the same time, it may cause a mistake.)

(4) We will confirm your application with the postal transfer form received at the secretariat.

9. covenants:

(1) I pledge that I will be responsible for any accidents that occur during the tournament.

(2) False declarations of age or gender, or entries by persons other than the entrant (illegal entries) will not be accepted. The entry will be cancelled.

(3) The organizer reserves the right to publish videos, photographs, articles, records, etc. on TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, etc. during the competition.

(4) No refund of entry fee will be requested after application.

11. commendation:

Up to 6th place in each category (extra prize: 10kg-2kg of Hokuryu-machi rice), up to 3rd place in elementary and junior high school categories (sports gift certificate)
All participants will receive a T-shirt (book coupons for elementary and junior high school students)
Book coupons for elementary school students in 3 km pairs
There is no certificate of completion or record.
The "Record List" will be posted after the competition. The list will be posted on the Hokuryu Portal at a later date.

13. other:

(1) The organizer will take all possible measures to prevent accidents by deploying voluntary traffic controllers, etc. at key points. (2) As the festival is held during the Himawari Festival, tourists may cross the road, so please drive with caution.

(2) No cheering accompaniment is allowed, so please cooperate.

(3) The organizers will not be responsible for any accidents that occur during the competition, so please take out accident insurance and take good care of your health.

(4) If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions or other reasons on the day of the event, the entry fee will not be refunded, but prizes will be handed out at the event site during the registration period. (5) No refunds will be made for cancellations or no-shows after registration.

(5) Please keep your own baggage at the venue.

(6) Transportation, lodging, etc. must be arranged by the participants themselves.

(7) Automatic measurement
Measurements are taken using a measuring tip. Chips should be fixed to shoelaces.
Parents must wear the chip in the parent-child pairs category.
Chips will be collected by an attendant after the finish line.
　Please note that the actual cost of 1,000 yen will be charged for lost or unreturned items.
