On June 21 (Wed.), the summer solstice, sunflowers were cut and thinned at Sunflower Village by the residents of Hokuryu Town.

Hokuryu townspeople participated over three days
This work will take place over three days, Wednesday, June 21, Thursday, June 22, and Friday, June 23, for two hours each in the morning and afternoon (09:30 to 11:30 and 13:30 to 15:30).
About 40 people participated on the morning of the first day, including volunteers from the town's neighborhood associations and senior citizens' clubs.
This is the mowing & thinning work of Hokuryu Town residents with deep love and sincerity for the lovely sunflowers growing vigorously under the great sunshine of the summer solstice.
