On Friday, January 6, the New Year's party was held at the Hokuryu-cho Council Chambers, where Mayor Yutaka Sano gave his New Year's greetings.

Happy New Year!
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and your family on a glorious New Year.

We are in difficult times with the soaring prices of oil and commodities due to the "new coronavirus infection" and the "situation in Ukraine," but I believe that we can overcome these difficulties and create a society full of smiling faces.

As each New Year begins, we renew our resolutions to work hard toward the realization of our dreams and hopes. I hope that all of you will be able to fulfill your dreams and hopes.

This year's Chinese zodiac sign is "Rabbit. I am also celebrating my 6th New Year's Eve. I would like to introduce some of my favorite words.

It is our role and job to work for the safety and happiness of the town's residents.

In these difficult times, I hope that you, as town hall employees, will have a strong awareness of the importance of your work, and that you will make Hokuryu Town a town of rich hearts and minds. I hope that all of you will spread your wings.

This year, we will be holding elections for council members, and this will be the last year of my third term in office, so I would like to give my New Year's greeting by sincerely wishing that 2023 will be a year of great progress for Hokuryu Town and all its employees.

We pray that the Year of the Rabbit 2023 will be a year of bright leaps forward!
