Cancellation or postponement of town-sponsored meetings, etc., for the time being
In response to the national emergency declaration, the town-sponsored meetings and events that had been scheduled through Wednesday, May 6, will be cancelled or postponed for the time being.
The community center, Kaizen Center (gymnasium), library, local history museum, Hekisui Ikigai Center, Mibagyu Training Center, processing center, food and agriculture workshop Palm, tourism center, park golf course, Kompira Park, and yew forest will also be closed for the time being.
We would like to ask all residents of the town to cancel or postpone, as much as possible, any gatherings where people are in close proximity to each other, which may increase the risk of spreading the new coronavirus.

The Planning and Promotion Division of the Town Hall would like to inform you of the operating hours of the Central Bus.
Hokkaido Chuo Bus and Sorachi Chuo Bus will continue to operate the "Takikawa - Hokuryu Route" and "Fukagawa - Hokuryu Route" on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 7 (Thu.) for the time being due to a request for voluntary restraint from leaving the house following the spread of new coronavirus infection. We would like to ask for the understanding and cooperation of all residents of the town.
Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen hours shortened; all buildings closed on Saturdays and Sundays
The Hokuryu Promotion Agency would like to inform you of the shortened opening hours of Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen.
Thank you for visiting Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen. In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen will be open until 8:00 p.m. and restaurants until 7:30 p.m. from May 7 (Thu.).
We would also like to inform you that the entire building will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to residents of the town and ask for your understanding.
Temporary closure of elementary and junior high schools extended until Sunday, May 31
The Board of Education announces the extension of the temporary closing of elementary and junior high schools.
In response to the government's request to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we would like to announce that the temporary closing of elementary and junior high schools will be extended until May 31 (Sun.).
Please note that both elementary and junior high schools will be open on May 7 (Thu.) and May 8 (Fri.), so please be sure to make a mistake.
The school will inform you of future school days at a later date.
