Masks with a gingham check pattern (designed by Mr. Makoto Umehara), the logo of Hokuryu Town, were handmade by Ms. Keiko Ozaki, a member of the Hokuryu Town Council and director of the NPO Akarui Nouhou.

Several years ago, Mr. Ozaki received instructions on how to make masks from Ms. Yumiko Miyashita, a member of the Tsukigata Town Council, and he has now made masks as a measure to prevent new coronavirus infection. At the first regular session of the 2020 First Congress, Mayor Sano, Council Chair Sasaki, Council Member Ozaki, and Vice Mayor Takahashi wore handmade masks with gingham check patterns to the regular session.

Wearing masks with the Hokuryu Town logo "gingham check" pattern, they raised their spirits to do their best to create a town that will not be defeated by the corona virus.
