Continued # Birch bark collection The other day, I participated in a birch bark craft workshop in Obihiro. The instructor @koubouameiro and his assistant @kimoko_toppy came to see the birches in our mountain. I can only thank them for giving us the knowledge they have gained from their long experience with birches, from how to collect the bark without wasting it to the know-how of storing and processing it. I was strongly impressed by his attitude of trying to move forward with the times while valuing his vision more than his own gain or loss. After returning home, the two of us immediately started pre-treating the bark we collected today. This time, we collected bamboo leaves and delivered them to SHIRO in Sunagawa! We carefully sorted only clean leaves that were free of insects, dirt, and mold [Tatsuya and Hitomi Kamii, under Nature].

We collected birch bark again this year. The more experience we gain, the more we realize that there is a limit to the amount of good quality bark 🌟 The amount collected this year was small so that we can continue to take it in the future [Tatsuya and Hitomi Uei, under nature].
