Former local revitalization volunteers, Yasuhide Nishijima (52 years old) and Chiaki Nakano (51 years old), will open a Western restaurant called "Kitchen Harebare" in Hokuryu Town on Wednesday, February 5th!

Prior to the opening, an opening ceremony was held on Monday, February 3rd, the first day of spring, where members of the Hokuryu Town Chamber of Commerce were treated to a heartfelt and heartfelt meal of hospitality.

"Nakano Chiaki's mother passed away last year. Her name was Harumi. She had originally planned to help out here, but that was no longer possible, so we named the shop "Harebare" (Clear Clear Sky) to reflect our feelings for her mother. The name also carries the meaning of "Clear Clear Sky in Sunflower Town."

The opening date is February 5th, 2025, which was chosen as the play on words, "2525 Nico Nico."

"I've also set up a special spot for Harumi at the counter, where I place a stuffed toy and have a drink every night. I feel like Harumi is always watching over me," says Nishijima with a deep emotion.

A new culture of Western food! And for the young people who will lead the future

"I want to leave behind a Western food culture that has never been seen before in this town, and I would be happy if people from the neighborhood could come and learn about the charms of Hokuryu, and if as many people as possible would be interested in living in Hokuryu.

Above all, I want to continue to provide food and drinks that will please the young people who will be responsible for the town's future."

1. Spinach and broccoli with mustard dressing

The spiciness of the mustard and seasonal vegetables create a gentle, warming flavor!

2. Tomato bouillabaisse-style hotpot

A bouillabaisse-style hotpot made with seafood such as shrimp and cod simmered in a tomato base with vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, shimeji mushrooms, and enoki mushrooms. The seafood broth blends with the acidity of the tomatoes to create a superb soup with a rich, deep flavor!!!

3. Chicken liver paste bruschetta

The liver paste is fried to remove the odor and then spread on a baguette. The rich and sticky liver paste goes perfectly with baguette!

4. Salmon with pepper vinaigrette

The peppery vinaigrette is reminiscent of French dressing. The balance of the acidity of the dressing and the marinade of the smoked salmon and onions is perfect, creating a gorgeous flavor!

5. Roast beef with applesauce and mashed potatoes

The tender and delicious roast beef is perfectly paired with the apple sauce, and the accompanying mashed potatoes create a triple whammy of deliciousness!!!

6. Baked chicken and potato with tomato and cheese

The tender chicken and fluffy potatoes, which have been slowly simmered for about four hours, blend together with the tomato sauce and melted cheese to create a wonderful harmony!!!

7. Risotto with rice and cheese in a tomato pot

This risotto is perfect for finishing off a meal, as it is infused with the rich flavor of bouillabaisse!
