Due to the rain that started last night, only about 1m of snow remains in Naganomori Forest. The roots are starting to open up, and the trees are breathing and waiting for spring. We hosted the last school trip of the season. Four high school students from Taiwan. My grandchildren quickly got along with them, even though they didn't understand the language. I recently planted three Somei-Yoshino cherry trees. The tops of the trees I planted previously were eaten by deer, so I thought they were doomed, but new branches and leaves had appeared at the bottom, so I covered them with wire mesh.
