The "Sunflower Village Weed-Cutting Crusade" is a volunteer activity in which townspeople, including members of the Senior Citizens' Club, can voluntarily participate in weeding and thinning out the grass in the Sunflower Village.

This activity began in 1992 (Heisei 4) and has been continued for 32 years to the present day.
Thanks to their many years of experience, veteran townspeople bend over with hoes in hand and diligently thin out the plants and pull out the surrounding weeds in designated areas of the sunflower village.
This year it will be held for three days from June 26th (Wed) to 28th (Fri).
This year, the event will be held over three days from Wednesday, June 26th to Friday, June 28th, for two hours in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00 and two hours in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Although it depends on the weather, about 30 townspeople participate each time and work hard weeding.

As a cool breeze blows through Sunflower Village, a dragon-like cloud lies across the sky, as if gently watching over the humble and devoted souls of the townspeople who love and cherish the sunflowers.
It's the moment when great power comes together and anything can be accomplished by many people working together, even if it's impossible to do it alone...
